Blavity Media Group (BMG) and The Gathering Spot (TGS) have announced an exclusive partnership that positions BMG as the sole sales and activation partner for TGS’s sponsorship portfolio.
The collaboration creates a new platform connecting brands with Black America’s most influential professionals, both through digital media and in private gathering spaces, according to a news release.
“The Gathering Spot built physical spaces with the same philosophy we brought to digital media: that Black professionals deserve to be seen fully, not as a demographic, but as a community,” said Blavity Inc. CEO and Co-founder Morgan DeBaun. “Together, we’re creating something that reflects how our audience actually lives, online and offline, in content and in community. For brands that want to show up authentically, this is the way in.”
How Blavity And The Gathering Spot Support Black Professionals
BMG is the largest digital media platform amplifying Black culture. Together, its six brands — including AfroTech, Blavity, and Travel Noire — reach over 32 million monthly users.
The company also hosts the annual AfroTech Conference, the world’s largest technology conference for Black professionals.
Founded in 2016, TGS is a private membership network for leaders, executives, and founders shaping business, politics, and culture. The organization serves over 11,000 members in four locations across Atlanta, Washington, D.C., and Los Angeles.
The partnership will offer a limited number of sponsorship opportunities, giving brands access to the community as well as perks such as category-exclusive positions across all TGS clubs, curated member experiences, and custom on-site activations amplified across BMG’s digital platforms.
“From day one, The Gathering Spot has been about what happens when Black people have a space where they’re celebrated, not tolerated,” said Ryan Wilson, its CEO and co-founder.
“Our members are building generational wealth, launching companies, and shaping industries. Blavity mirrors these notions across media. This partnership gives brands access to the rooms where those conversations and decisions are happening,” he added.
Expanding Opportunities Through AfroTech Insider And TGS
The newly launched collaboration builds on a 2025 cross-membership program connecting digital and physical memberships across AfroTech Insider and TGS.
As AFROTECH™ previously reported, the partnership aimed to foster excellence in tech and business through exclusive conversations and meetups. It allowed AFROTECH™ to expand resources, relationship-building opportunities, and platforms for its membership community of Black executives, founders, and visionaries.
Members received full membership to both TGS and AfroTech Insider. They also enjoyed complimentary dining experiences at select TGS locations and priority access to the AFROTECH™ Conference, among other benefits.
“The Insider program was built for the modern executive who isn’t just leading teams — they’re shaping industries,” DeBaun said of the collaboration at the time. “Our partnership with TGS ensures these leaders are not only visible — but deeply connected to the people, capital, and platforms needed to thrive at scale.”
