Keith Lee, the content creator and food critic whose TikTok food reviews have driven national attention to local restaurants and small businesses, is preparing to take that influence offline with the launch of a new food festival set to debut this spring.
The festival, Keith Lee’s Familee Day, will kick off on May 16 in New Orleans and is positioned as a multi-day experience centered on food, music, and family-friendly programming, according to a video Lee shared on TikTok. At its core, the event aims to create sustained visibility and economic opportunity for small and underrepresented restaurants that often struggle to break through traditional marketing channels, he said.
A Festival More Than A Year In The Making
In the video announcing Familee Day, Lee shared that the event has been in development for more than a year and was intentionally designed to go beyond a standard food festival model.
“At first I was gonna say, ‘hey, we got a food festival coming out, and it’s food, family, music,’” Lee said. “But I gotta be honest with y’all, it’s way deeper than that.”

Food And Music Culture At The Forefront
According to the Detroit native, the festival will feature restaurants he has highlighted across his social media platform, alongside live music programming that reflects both the host city and a broader national audience.
The New Orleans debut features Louisiana-based artists as well as nationally recognized performers spanning multiple generations, he shared.
“Music for the kids, music for the adults, music for the grandparents, music for the great-grandparents,” Lee said. “Music for every single generation.”
Keith Lee Wants It To Be An Experience For Everyone
Beyond food and music, Familee Day is intentionally family-centered. Plans include carnival rides and interactive experiences, including an obstacle course competition where Lee said his own family will participate alongside attendees.
The 29-year-old is a former MMA fighter, and he brings that same competitive spirit to much of his social media content. He said the festival will be no different, with the family competition including a prize and mirroring the type of obstacle challenges featured in the 2008 film “Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins,” starring Martin Lawrence.
From Viral Reviews To Measurable Economic Impact
Lee’s ability to translate digital influence into real-world economic impact has been widely documented. According to AFROTECH™, many restaurants featured in his TikTok reviews have experienced sharp increases in visibility, foot traffic, and revenue, with some businesses seeing sustained growth months after a single visit.
In one widely cited example, Chicago-based restaurant Soul Prime, founded by Shonya “Chef Royce” Williams, saw millions of views on Lee’s review and an immediate surge in customers that helped stabilize operations and staffing, AFROTECH™ noted.
Creating Recurring Opportunities for Small Businesses
The upcoming festival represents an effort to scale that impact beyond individual restaurant visits. Lee said the event is designed to give small businesses a recurring opportunity for national exposure and long-term planning.
“This is a date that God willing will bring thousands of people, national news, national coverage, and visibility, most importantly,” he said, adding that the festival is expected to return annually in different U.S. cities.
Tickets for Familee Day are scheduled to go on sale Feb. 9. Lee said the first wave will be priced as affordably as possible to prioritize access, and this will be the lowest-priced tickets available.
“In this economy, it would make the most sense to try and make a profitable festival,” he said. “I don’t care. I want y’all that wanna be there to be there.”
Additional details, including the full music lineup, participating restaurants, and future festival locations, have not yet been announced.
